Medowie fire trail project - Supporting fire management and mitigation

Here's a throwback to the Medowie fire trail project from 2019. Our specialist staff worked with client the Rural Fire Service to rehabilitate one of the largest fire trail complexes in the state - the Medowie State Conservation Area.

This site was the first of a trial across 20 sites to give better access for firefighters during bushfires and hazard reduction burns.

Medowie is one of the largest complexes in the state, but before this work it's trails were inaccessible. Clay bog holes, fallen trees, large eroded gullies and steep untraversable areas all restricted access.

Our staff were able to bring the site to a category one standard. Check out the project, including some impressive before and after images.
