Bumbalong soil rehabilitation to protect threatened species

Below are some imagery from work in progress in Bumbalong to rehabilitation erosion caused by bushfires in early 2020.

This is part of an ongoing project to control sediment and prevent silt from entering the upper Murrumbidgee river system. Ultimately it will help protect the threatened Macquarie Perch and other aquatic species.

Thanks to the South East Bushfire Recovery program and the Caterpillar Foundation who are funding this work. The works are possible due to a partnership between landholders, Local Land Services, Greening Australia, the Australian River Restoration Centre, the Upper Murrumbidgee Demonstration Reach and the NSW Soil Conservation Service.
